Celebrities sell unhealthy recipes in cookbooks: Healthy ClevelandFamous chefs like Anthony Bourdain and Michael Symon have said that people often ask them, "Why doesn't the food I make at home taste as good as what we get at restaurants?" Both have similar responses. Because you aren't putting in nearly as much cream and butter, says Bourdain. "Fat equals flavor," responds Symon.

Well, some cookbooks do encourage ultra-rich cooking at home -- to an extreme. And while your taste buds might get a temporary kick, the rest of your body will suffer the long-term toll -- and, we'd guess, short-term discomfort as well.

Five cookbooks released in 2010 are notable for their notoriously unhealthy recipes, so the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is calling them out. (The Washington, D.C.-based group advocates healthy diets for disease prevention.

The recipes in TV chef Gordon Ramsay's book "World Kitchen" sound like they could easily put a person on the path to a heart attack. His British Pheasant Casserole includes two pheasants, smoked bacon, butter and -- wait for it -- double cream.

I feel heartburn coming on just reading about it. Trisha Yearwood and her husband, Garth Brooks, are much-beloved country singers, but you have to worry about how long Garth will be around.

One of the recipes that Yearwood shares in her book "Home Cooking" is "Garth's Breakfast Bowl," a single dish that includes eight large eggs, a pound of bacon and a pound of sausage, cheese tortellini, cheddar cheese, Tater Tots and, yes, butter. 'Cause there apparently wasn't enough fat in there already.
