Over the weekend I placed roughly half of the books and CDs I own into storage in the (dark, spider-infested) attic. Sadly my shelf-space is too limited to house them all, but I can’t bear to throw them away or donate them to a charity shop.

Of course I could throw the CDs away really – the albums are all there on my iPod after all. And if I got myself a Kindle or iPad and started downloading, I could ditch the books too. And while I’m at it, I could scan all those old photographs and handwritten letters onto the computer and bin the hard copies.
I’d still have everything I had before, but with a lot less stuff cluttering up the house. And really, thinking about it, most of my friends have profiles on Twitter or Facebook these days, so I needn’t bother calling or meeting up with them any more, right?
