In the Pink Princess Cookbook, the newest offering from children’s cooking expert Barbara Beery, parents have recipes and party tips to create a perfect event for their little ones. The book includes six themes to celebrate the whimsy of childhood. All six themes offer both recipes and party favors designed to satisfy the princess in every little girl. Not only the plans for a great party, the recipes are kid friendly so both you and your child can share in the cooking aspect as well.

The latest cookbook grew from both Beery’s years as a children’s culinary teacher and her own family. “The idea for the Pink Princess party came as long ago as 24 years with my daughter, who is 28 now,” Beery said.

Instructing children in the ways of the kitchen has been Beery’s passion for the past 21 years. She operates Kids Cook in Austin, Texas, which offers birthday parties, cooking lessons, and a cafe for walk-in treat making for children. There is also an accompanying website, www.kidscookingshop.com to order supplies and signed copies of Beery’s cookbooks.

The original Pink Princess cookbook, published in 2006, spawned a Pink Princess series and the newest addition, The Pink Princes Party Cookbook. While the original cookbook inspired the idea for the current book, all of the recipes and party tips are new. “What this cookbook is all about is a combination of the most popular cookbooks that I’ve done combined into one party handbook, if you will. So people can do the theme start to finish should they choose to do so. But my hope is, with any recipe, that they take it and personalize it. And they may pick and choose a recipe out of each section to create a party that’s perfect for their little princess,” said Beery.

Her expertise in familiarizing parents with setting up kitchen time for their children earned her features in The New York Times, Everyday with Rachael Ray and an expert segment along side Alton Brown on his Food Network program Good Eats.
