Southern California author T. Katz  introduces her new children's book for readers 8-11 years of age.  In it, Miss L'eau tells the tale of two young boys who are forever changed after seeing the ocean through their mysterious teacher's eyes and who they are inspired to organize an Annual Seaside Clean-up for their coastal town.

The material is presented in a way that allows children to learn more about the delicate balance between the earth and the sea and our responsibility to protect and care for it.  The book comes with a comprehensive Study Guide which will be made available to school libraries and teachers. This book has already met with spectacular reviews from major conservation organizations.

Here a few comments:

"T. Katz has written a wonderful book about how children can change the world and protect the ocean.  I recommend Miss L'eauto anyone who believes that the greatest gift we can leave for our children is a deep and inspiring connection to the natural world." -- Serge Dedina, Ph.D., Executive Director of WiLDCOAST

Students discover how to turn ocean science to advocacy and stewardship for healthy seas when Miss L'eau floods her classroom with the wonder and awe of ocean life.  Miss L'eauis ocean literacy at its finest; it shines with bio-luminescent light.  -- Rob Moir, Ph.D., Director, Ocean River Institute {Former President, National Marine Educators Association]

"Miss L'eau combines a fun mystery plot with an important message regarding care of the ocean.  I especially appreciated the steps that the boys took to help Miss L'eau's home, as it resembles our own International Coastal Cleanup.  Thank you for writing a book that will hopefully lead young people towards a love and stewardship of our world' marine life." - Francesca N. Veitch Ocean Conservancy

The book is available now at Amazon.com and will be in bookstores just in time for school at the beginning of September 2008.
